Content Marketing Expert Issues a Marketing Challenge

David Lomas, content marketing expert and CEO of M3 Media Publishing, recently hosted a Marketing Challenge Workshop, at The St James’s Club in Manchester city centre.  This event gathered together a select group of directors, business owners and leaders for a presentation, workshop and round-table discussions, with the aim of strengthening their understanding of marketing.

 

The Value of Storytelling

David launched the event by giving an illustrated talk on the value of storytelling as a key part of strategic marketing to win new business, and encouraged those attending to share stories of their own.

“People don’t always realise the value their stories possess,” David observed.  “I demonstrated how to realise this value, and unlock the potential of the stories they already have, but perhaps don’t use to their full effect to win new business.”

David stressed the importance of each story illustrating a point while having some sort of legacy.

“It’s not just that your story should have a satisfying conclusion but that this clearly demonstrates something of lasting value that people hearing about it will appreciate,” David explains.

Answering the Challenge

Following the presentation, David held a lively workshop, where the attendees undertook The Marketing Challenge.

“The Marketing Challenge is an exercise to get people thinking and focusing on different marketing aspects, their practical application, and their appropriateness to a marketing brief,” explains David.

“Some of the participants in the event will get an article written about them in our recently launched Marketing Aspects Magazine,” he stated.  “That will enable them to discover, first-hand, the value of marketing strategy and storytelling.”
